I am a woodworker turned software engineer. While working for Ready Set Van (a company that converts cargo vans into camper vans), I taught myself how to use a CAD program to help meet the company’s growing needs as a designer.
I worked alongside a few software developers and I began to hear about the work they did. I found that, like various CAD programs, it entails lots of problem-solving, plenty of creativity, and, most of all, continuous learning. It piqued my interest and, with that, I began learning about software development.
Today, I am a software engineer specializing in building full-stack applications using the MERN stack, though I have made and continue to tinker with many other languages, frameworks, and technologies. Additionally, I work as a freelance developer building websites for small businesses.
